Relationship rumours happen all the time, and it’s something that’s out of your control. Whether you like it or not, people must talk about your relationship; some things they say might be true and some might just be gossips and false rumours aimed at destabilising your relationship.
Many women get furious and lose it after hearing a rumour about their partner or relationship, but there are better ways to handle those rumours and gossips.
1. DON’T TAKE IT TO HEART
When you hear a rumour or gossip about your man or relationship, don’t take it to heart; don’t keep thinking about it, else you might lose it. Just be yourself and continue living your life.
2. DON’T LOSE YOUR COOL
Don’t lose your cool because of a rumour that might not even be true. Give your man that benefit of doubt and keep your emotions in check, or you might make some silly decisions.
3. TALK TO YOUR PARTNER ABOUT IT
Talk to your partner about the rumour you heard; don’t make a decision without talking to your man. Hear what he has to say, and the previous tip is important because when you keep your cool, it would be easier to discern if he’s lying or telling the truth.
4. DON’T LIVE YOUR LIFE LIKE THE RUMOUR DEPENDED ON IT
Good or bad, don’t live your life like the rumour actually depended on it. Go on living your life, forget about the rumour. Don’t lose yourself over a rumour, don’t let a gossip stop you from being who you are and carrying on with your daily activities.
5. IS IT SOMETHING YOU CAN FORGIVE?
If it’s true, is the rumour something you can forgive? This is very important. But you also need time to heal if it’s true. If it isn’t true, the previous tips would help you carry on with your life like nothing happened.
6. FORGIVE AND MOVE ON
If you can forgive your partner, forgive him and move on like nothing happened. Don’t try to cling on to it; it wouldn’t augur well for the relationship. If it isn’t something you can forgive, try to move on from the relationship.
A lot of relationships have been destroyed because the rumours and gossips weren’t handled well. Don’t be a victim.
